Our room had a plastered up fireplace and Ashtead transformed the room with a log burner. They did everything from knocking out the wall to lining the chimney and installing the log burner. Since 2022, wood burning stoves have had to meet certain regulations around fuel efficiency and cleaner burning. The ‘Eco 22’ ready stoves that we supply and install are built to meet these regulations, with reduced particulate levels. If your old burner is inefficient and smoky, then an Eco 22 may be the perfect upgrade.
ARE YOU USING THE RIGHT FUEL?
Wet wood is the enemy of wood burning stoves, and burning it can cause excessive smoke, reduced heat and increased pollution. We would advise customers to ensure any wood their burn has a moisture content of less than 20%. Keeping your wood in a dry space, and testing with a moisture meter, ensures that you can enjoy a cleaner, stronger burn.
